The Silent Service: New York series announced for Prime Video

A special trailer and cast announcement have been released for the Prime Original drama series ‘The Silent Service: Wake Up, New York’. This production is the third installment in the live-action adaptation of the popular manga series, following the first season and the film ‘The Silent Service: Great Battle in the Arctic Ocean’.

Unlike previous entries that were released in theaters, this series will be distributed exclusively via Prime Video. The story shifts its setting to New York, where the nuclear-powered submarine ‘Yamato’ faces direct confrontation with the United States government after its journey through the Arctic Ocean. The plot explores themes of international security, political maneuvering, and the clash of different definitions of justice as the United Nations General Assembly convenes in New York.

Returning cast members include Hiroshi Tamaki, Aya Ueto, Aoi Nakamura, Kenjiro Tsuda, Yusuke Santamaria, Yui Natsukawa, Takashi Sasano, and Yo Okuchi. The series is scheduled for exclusive global streaming on Prime Video in the summer of 2027.
