The Simpsons Hit & Run remasterization rumors resurface

Speculation regarding a remaster of the cult classic video game ‘The Simpsons Hit & Run’ has increased following recent developments. While no official announcement has been made, series creator Matt Groening recently addressed the possibility of the original game returning, stating, “I think the original game will come back in some way... or not.”

One significant hurdle for a modern release has been the character Apu, who was largely removed from recent media due to concerns regarding racial stereotypes. However, the character’s recent reappearance in the ‘Treehouse of Horror: The Revengening’ special, voiced by Sunil Malhotra, suggests that the technical and casting obstacles to incorporating the character into a new version may have been resolved.

Originally released in 2003 by Radical Entertainment, the open-world title remains highly sought after by fans of the PlayStation 2, Xbox, and GameCube era.
