The Simpsons Movie Sequel Scheduled for September 3, 2027

Disney confirmed the production of a second "The Simpsons" film, slated for theatrical release on September 3, 2027 after a postponement from an earlier July date. The sequel, announced on September 29, 2025, follows the original 2007 movie that earned about €494 million worldwide.

Promotional updates are expected at Disney's D23 expo in 2026 and at the San Diego Comic‑Con events in 2026 and 2027. Showrunner Matt Selman indicated that new teaser material, possibly a poster or character reveal, will be shared before the final release. The franchise remains a major adult‑animated property under the Walt Disney Company and 20th Century Studios.
