The Simpsons releases Treehouse of Horror XXXVII

The Simpsons has aired its latest Halloween special, “Treehouse of Horror XXXVII,” returning to the traditional three-segment anthology format. The episode features a stop-motion claymation opening sequence that pays homage to Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas,” produced by Stoopid Buddy Studios.

The episode includes three distinct segments. In “Bride’s Shed Revisited,” a magical backyard shed causes Marge to cycle through different husbands, including Lenny, Chief Wiggum, Dr. Hibbert, and guest star Jeff Probst. This segment has drawn attention for engaging with a long-standing fan theory regarding Marge’s feelings for Lenny.

Another segment, “Dog Boy Afternoon,” serves as a parody of “Pet Sematary,” where Bart and Santa’s Little Helper swap bodies after being buried in the same grave. The final segment, “Vehicular Dadslaughter,” follows Bart and Lisa as they encounter Patty and Selma in a surreal, endless driver’s education nightmare at the DMV.
