The Smashing Pumpkins launch 'Pumpkinpalooza' celebration in Chicago

The Grammy‑winning rock band The Smashing Pumpkins will headline Lollapalooza in Chicago on July 31, marking their first appearance at the festival since its original touring edition in 1994. To commemorate the homecoming, the band announced "Pumpkinpalooza," a week‑long series of fan‑focused events running from July 29 to July 31.

The celebration begins with a sold‑out show at Chicago’s historic Riviera Theatre on July 29, offering an intimate 2,500‑seat performance before the festival. A dedicated Pumpkinpalooza merchandise pop‑up operates daily at 900 S. Wabash Ave, and fans can visit Madame Zuzu’s Celestial Lounge, an extension of Billy Corgan and Chloé Mendel Corgan’s Highland Park teahouse, for matcha, vinyl, and exclusive items. Outside the festival grounds, The Aviary will serve a limited‑edition cocktail, "Infinite Mellons," inspired by the band.
