The Stoned Crow bar to close in Crows Nest amid major pub industry shifts
The Stoned Crow, a well-known bar in Crows Nest on Sydney’s lower north shore, is scheduled to close on October 4 following the end of its 15-year lease, according to tenant Arik Shifroni. The venue, located at 39 Willoughby Road, was previously a nightclub before being converted into a bistro and craft beer destination in 2011. The property is owned by Procorp Developments.
In separate hospitality news, the Ryan family has re-entered the Double Bay market by acquiring the Royal Oak Hotel. The Malouf brothers, owners of the Royal Hotels Group, reportedly received approximately $100 million for the venue located at 28 Bay Street. This acquisition follows a trend of high-value pub sales in the region, including the $130 million sale of the Oaks Hotel in Neutral Bay to Gallagher Hotels.
