The Talented Mr. Ripley to air on free-to-air television

The psychological thriller ‘The Talented Mr. Ripley’, based on the novel by Patricia Highsmith, is scheduled for broadcast on free-to-air television. The film, directed by Anthony Minghella, stars Matt Damon as Tom Ripley and Jude Law as Dickie Greenleaf.

The plot follows Ripley, who travels to Italy to bring Greenleaf back to the United States, only to become entangled in a web of lies and murder after killing his friend and assuming his identity. The film also features Gwyneth Paltrow.

This 1999 production is a reimagining of previous adaptations, including the 1959 film ‘Purple Noon’ starring Alain Delon. The broadcast is set for Friday, August 14, at 10:50 PM on the German broadcaster BR.
