The Tasman hotel unveils LUMINA luxury event space in Hobart

The Tasman, a Luxury Collection hotel in Hobart, has officially opened LUMINA, a new luxury event space located in Parliament Square overlooking the waterfront. The venue is designed to support Tasmania’s business events, incentive travel, weddings, and private celebrations.

Designed by the Australian architectural practice fjcstudio, the pillar-free space features cantilevered glulam beams made from Tasmanian plantation oak. The venue offers flexible configurations, accommodating up to 220 guests for standing cocktail events or 190 for gala dinners.

General Manager Carolyn Smith noted that the opening allows the hotel to bring its signature service and culinary identity to a dedicated setting, stating that the venue has already secured 40 events. Tasmanian Premier Jeremy Rockliff highlighted the importance of the project, noting that such private investment helps transform Parliament Square into a world-class precinct and supports the local economy.
