The Villages of Indiana Launches Back-to-School Supply Drive for Foster Youth
The Villages of Indiana, the state’s largest licensed non‑profit for family and child services, has opened its annual Back‑to‑School Donation Drive to help foster families and young adults cover the rising cost of classroom supplies, estimated at about $150 per child. In 2025 the agency provided direct support to 475 children in foster care and 617 former foster youth, seeking community, corporate and church contributions to stock backpacks, crayons, and other essentials.
At the same time, LearningRx Brain Training offers parents in Columbus and Dublin, Ohio, practical activities to strengthen children’s attention, memory, processing speed and reasoning. The guide recommends everyday games, reading together, puzzles and creative projects to boost the cognitive skills that underlie reading, math and classroom participation, helping families prepare children for the upcoming school year.
