The Vision Council Foundation launches 2026 eye health campaign
The Vision Council Foundation has launched its 2026 “See What Matters – Empowering Education” campaign to promote eye health as students prepare for the upcoming school year. The initiative encourages families to prioritize comprehensive eye exams and healthy vision habits to prevent learning impediments.
The campaign specifically addresses childhood myopia, a condition affecting approximately 30% of children and adolescents in the United States. Key risk factors identified include excessive screen time, genetics, and insufficient outdoor activity. The initiative also highlights concerns regarding digital eye strain and dry eye resulting from increased screen use.
To support the campaign, the Foundation has released free, downloadable toolkits tailored for eyecare providers, schools, parents, and media. These resources include printable materials, social media content, family eye exam checklists, and information regarding myopia management.
