The Voice Brasil cancels filming following voting rights complaints

Production for The Voice Brasil has canceled a filming session scheduled for Sunday, the date of the presidential election second round, following complaints from staff regarding their ability to vote.

Employees from Formata, a co-producer of the musical reality show alongside SBT, reported that the Sunday filming schedule would prevent part of the team from reaching the polls. Staff members reportedly attempted to negotiate a schedule change—proposing to vote in the morning and start their shifts afterward—but management denied the request. This refusal led to concerns among workers that the situation could constitute an electoral crime under Article 297 of the Electoral Code, which penalizes those who impede the exercise of suffrage.

Following the reports, Disney, which handles the show's streaming via Disney+, confirmed that no filming will take place this Sunday, stating that sessions will resume during the following week. SBT has indicated it is analyzing the case.
