The Walking Dead: Dead City introduces alternate reality storyline

The Walking Dead: Dead City is introducing an alternate-reality storyline in its third season, marking the first time the franchise has utilized such a narrative device. The twist brings back the character Beth Greene, played by Emily Kinney, in a version of New York City where the zombie apocalypse never occurred.

This return does not negate the character's original death in Season 5 of the main series. Instead, the episode reunites Beth with her sister, Maggie Rhee, played by Lauren Cohan, in a peaceful setting. The episode will feature Beth pursuing her interest in music, including a performance of Kinney’s song ‘Reasons to Stay Alive’.
