The Weeknd announces remaster of debut album ‘Kiss Land’

Canadian artist The Weeknd, born Abel Tesfaye, has announced that he is working on a remastered version of his 2013 debut studio album, ‘Kiss Land’.

In an interview with GQ, Tesfaye expressed a desire to revisit the project to achieve the specific vision he had originally intended. He stated, “I’ve been obsessing over that album recently. I’m in the process of remastering it because it’s the one project I never felt I executed exactly the way I envisioned.”

Originally released a year after his ‘Trilogy’ compilation, ‘Kiss Land’ was characterized by dark, moody themes inspired by filmmakers such as John Carpenter and Ridley Scott. While the album developed a significant cult following, it did not reach the number one spot on the Canadian Albums chart, unlike some of his subsequent blockbuster projects. An official release date for the remastered version has not yet been announced.
