The Weeknd features NieR and Evangelion visuals at Japan concert

During his ‘After Hours Til Dawn Tour’ concert at Belluna Dome on September 19, 2026, Canadian singer The Weeknd featured a special visual collaboration between the video game ‘NieR: Automata’ and the ‘Neon Genesis Evangelion’ anime series.

The stage visuals included characters from ‘NieR: Automata’, such as 2B and 9S, alongside iconic ‘Evangelion’ elements including the EVA units and characters Shinji Ikari, Asuka, and Rei. The performance was noted for its connection to Yoko Taro and Yoko Takahashi, with reports suggesting the set included a new song that may sample ‘A Cruel Angel's Thesis.’

In addition to the visual spectacle, the concert drew diverse crowds to the venue, with attendees sporting various fashion styles ranging from heavy street style to body-conscious looks.
