The Weeknd meets Tony Leung and Carina Lau in Hong Kong

Canadian singer The Weeknd met with Hong Kong film icons Tony Leung Chiu-wai and Carina Lau during his visit to the city for the ‘After Hours Til Dawn’ tour. The meeting, which took place at a private dinner overlooking Victoria Harbour, was shared on social media by Carina Lau.

Photos of the gathering went viral, with many fans initially questioning if the images were AI-generated due to the high profile of the individuals involved. The Weeknd also shared a photo with Tony Leung on his private account, using Faye Wong’s song ‘Dream Person’—the theme from the Wong Kar-wai film ‘Chungking Express’—as background music. This gesture highlighted the singer's long-standing appreciation for Hong Kong cinema and pop culture.

The Weeknd is scheduled to perform four shows at the Kai Tak Sports Park as part of his ongoing tour.
