The Weeknd performs for 108,000 fans at Hyundai Card Super Concert in South Korea
Canadian pop star The Weeknd performed at the Hyundai Card Super Concert 28 at Goyang Stadium in South Korea on the 7th and 8th. The two-day event drew a total of 108,000 fans, with 54,000 attendees per night.
The production featured a dystopian, cathedral-like stage design created by creative director La Mar Taylor and designer Alexander Veselli, incorporating ruins and classical architectural fragments. A central highlight was a 12-meter-tall golden robotic sculpture designed by Japanese artist Hajime Sorayama.
During the approximately two-hour set, The Weeknd performed a medley of 40 songs, including hits such as ‘Starboy’, ‘Blinding Lights’, and ‘Save Your Tears’. The artist, known for his blend of R&B, hip-hop, and electronic music, initially appeared in a silver mask before revealing his face to the crowd. He noted a special connection to South Korea, mentioning that his 2018 performance in Seoul was his first stadium show.
