The Weeknd's San Siro show pulls 165,000 fans with futuristic staging
The Weeknd began a three‑night run at Milan’s San Siro on 24 July 2026, selling out all dates and drawing a total of about 165 000 spectators. The Canadian pop star, Abel Tesfaye, performed with opening act Playboi Carti and presented a production described as an “odyssey in futuristic pop.” Central to the show was a 12‑metre golden statue by Japanese artist Hajime Sorayama, equipped with laser eyes and smoke effects, which dominated a dystopian‑themed set of ruins, flames and LED‑filled walkways. The concert featured a 40‑song setlist ranging from early hits to tracks from the recent “After Hours Til Dawn” tour. In his opening remarks the singer addressed the crowd, saying, “Milano, come ti senti stasera? È bello essere tornato in Italia, ragazzi.” The event is part of a world‑wide tour that has sold over 7.5 million tickets and generated more than a billion dollars in revenue across 153 shows, making it the highest‑grossing solo male artist tour in history.
