The Witcher 3 Remastered developers aim to avoid tradeoffs on Nintendo Switch 2

Developers of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered aim to avoid the technical compromises seen in the original Nintendo Switch release for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 version.

During a Gamescom presentation, Yigsoft, the development partner working with CD Projekt Red, explained that the Switch 2 port is being built using the PC version as its foundation. This approach leverages the improved hardware of the Switch 2 to ensure a higher-quality experience. The technical architect for Yigsoft stated that the team intended to start from the beginning to avoid the tradeoffs required by the first generation of Switch hardware.

The Witcher 3 Remastered is scheduled to launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on September 29, 2026.
