The Witcher 3 Remastered faces performance and difficulty critiques
The release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered by CD Projekt Red has introduced several technical challenges for players. Following its launch as a free upgrade for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, users have reported significant performance issues.
On PC, the primary technical hurdle is the implementation of path tracing, an advanced form of ray tracing. While providing more realistic global illumination, the technology is extremely resource-intensive, causing frame rate drops even on high-end hardware, particularly in dense environments like Novigrad or Velen. Additionally, users with AMD Radeon GPUs have reported specific issues, including black textures and visual artifacts.
Beyond technical performance, some players have expressed frustration regarding the game's difficulty. Newcomers have taken to social media to complain about challenging bosses and enemies, though veteran players suggest these complaints stem from a lack of familiarity with the RPG mechanics and the learning curve required to master character builds and combat tools.
