The Witcher 3 Remastered hits new Steam player record

The release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered has triggered a massive resurgence in player activity. According to SteamDB data, the game reached a new all-time peak of 137,724 concurrent players on Steam, surpassing its previous 2020 record of 103,329 players.

Despite the commercial success, players have reported various technical issues, including performance stutters on PlayStation 5, visual glitches, and audio problems on consoles. CD Projekt RED has acknowledged these concerns and is actively working on upcoming updates. Planned improvements include performance optimizations specifically for PS5, visual adjustments, fixes for Twitch Drops and My Rewards, and the expansion of Ukrainian localization to other regions on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

The studio is also collaborating with Mod.io to bring more modding support to all platforms. While the remaster has faced criticism regarding certain visual settings like Bloom on PC, the overall reception remains high, bolstered by the game's availability on modern hardware including the Nintendo Switch 2.
