The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered to launch September 2026

CD PROJEKT RED has announced The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered, scheduled for release on September 29, 2026. The update will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. Notably, the upgrade will be free for existing owners of the original game on compatible platforms.

The remaster includes the base game and the expansions Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine. It features significant technical improvements, including enhanced graphics, performance, overhauled combat animations, and a redesigned skill system. The Nintendo Switch 2 version is specifically designed to utilize the console's hardware, supporting motion controls, gyro aiming, and touchscreen navigation.

In a nod to player sentiment, the developers are including a toggle to switch between the new movement physics and the “legacy Roach” behavior, allowing players to retain the original horse's famously unpredictable movement.

Additionally, the project paves the way for a new full-fledged expansion titled Songs of the Past, developed in partnership with Fool’s Theory, which is expected to release in 2027.
