The Wolf of Wall Street airs on Rai Movie in Italy

The 2013 Martin Scorsese film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, starring Leonardo DiCaprio as Jordan Belfort, was broadcast on Italy’s Rai Movie channel on Sunday 26 July at 21:10. The airing highlighted the movie’s controversial portrayal of excess on Wall Street and its critical and commercial success, including five Oscar nominations and a Golden Globe win for DiCaprio.

During the film’s iconic Quaalude scene, two 1989 Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary cars were used. One survived the shoot and was later sold at RM Sotheby’s in December 2023 for $1.655 million. The other was deliberately damaged on set, with the director preferring an authentic wreck rather than a replica, and was estimated to have been worth $1.5‑2 million before destruction.
