The Womack Sisters release debut soul album

The Womack Sisters—comprising siblings BG, Kucha, and Zeimani—have released their self-titled debut album on Daptone Records. The trio carries a significant musical lineage, being the grandchildren of soul pioneer Sam Cooke and the nieces of R&B legend Bobby Womack. They are also the children of the musical duo Womack & Womack.

Growing up in a mobile musical environment, the sisters traveled extensively with their parents to locations including Nigeria, Thailand, and various parts of Europe, often participating in studio sessions and tours from a young age. Despite their family connections, the sisters noted that their path to this debut involved significant personal effort, including funding their early recording and marketing through retail and rideshare work.

To support the album release, the group is scheduled to perform opening sets for Al Green at the Hollywood Bowl, followed by a performance at Berkeley’s Greek Theatre.
