The Young and the Restless appoints new co-head writers Jamey Giddens and Dan O'Connor

CBS announced that daytime drama The Young and the Restless has appointed Jamey Giddens and Dan O'Connor as its new co‑head writers, with duties beginning next week. Both writers are Daytime Emmy winners; Giddens most recently contributed to CBS’s Beyond the Gates and has a history with Days of Our Lives, while O'Connor previously led writing teams on General Hospital, One Life to Live and Days of Our Lives. They replace long‑time head writer Josh Griffith, who stepped down after also serving as executive producer. The change follows a four‑year renewal of the soap through 2028, and the duo is expected to refocus the series on character‑driven storytelling that originally made it a top‑rated daytime program.
