The9 Limited posts record profit as AI game platform hits 8 million users

The9 Limited (Nasdaq: NCTY) reported unaudited net income of US$23 million for the quarter ended 31 March 2026, its strongest result since the 2004 IPO. Profit was driven largely by the receipt of 1.425 billion 9BIT tokens, valued at fair market prices on crypto exchanges, with an additional 475 million tokens to be reflected in the second quarter, bringing the total allocation under its agreement with the Panama‑based 9BIT Foundation to roughly 1.9 billion tokens. The company estimates its overall cryptocurrency holdings, including Bitcoin and 9BIT, at about US$110 million.

The AI‑powered game creation platform the9bit, launched in August 2025, has now surpassed 8 million registered users and enabled the creation of more than 110 000 games, positioning the service as an emerging AI‑native operating system for interactive entertainment. The board also approved a long‑term incentive plan that could grant senior management equity awards of up to 12 % of outstanding shares, contingent on quarterly net‑income targets for the remainder of 2026.
