Thea Gagate signs with Denso AiryBees for Japan SV. League

Filipino middle blocker Thea Gagate, a 6‑foot‑2 athlete, has signed with the Denso AiryBees to compete in the 2026‑27 Japan S.V. League season. The club announced the signing on Friday, adding Gagate as the latest import in the league's growing list of Filipino players, which already includes Jia De Guzman and Jaja Santiago (Sachi Minowa).

Gagate joins Denso while currently in Vietnam playing for the Philippines’ Alas Pilipinas team in the SEA V Cup. Her departure leaves her Philippine club ZUS Coffee without one of its key middle blockers, prompting the team to rely on younger players such as Zam Nolasco, Riza Nogales and rookie Alyanna Ong.
