Theater community mourns deaths of Hartmut H. Forche and Mike Hardy

The German theater community is mourning the loss of two notable figures. Hartmut H. Forche, a prolific actor, director, and dramaturg, has passed away. His career spanned numerous roles in theater, opera, and musicals across cities including Hannover, Dortmund, and Bielefeld. Forche was highly regarded for his translations of Broadway and West End classics into German, such as ‘Singin’ in the Rain’ and ‘Funny Girl’, as well as his work with Spanish theater.

In Hannover, the amateur theater group Südstädter Komöd’chen announced the death of honorary member Mike Hardy (born Jürgen Michael Gerhardy) at the age of 84. Hardy was a well-known figure in the local carnival scene and a performer with the Hannoverschen Show Ensemble e. V. He was recognized for his work as a solo entertainer, orator, and actor in various local productions.
