Theater in der Josefstadt installs SSL System T mixing system

The sound department of the Theater in der Josefstadt in Vienna has installed a Solid State Logic (SSL) System T digital mixing system. This upgrade allows engineers to mix performances from multiple venues, creating a shared production environment between Die Josefstadt and its nearby sister venue, the Kammerspiele.

The Kammerspiele previously installed a System T in 2024. The new installation at Die Josefstadt includes two 32-fader S500 surfaces and is part of a broader technical refit that features an AoIP network, a Sennheiser multichannel wireless microphone system, and a d&b audiotechnik PA system.

Raimund Hornich, the head of the sound department for both theaters, noted that the new system provides the modern workflow, flexibility, and scalability required for contemporary theater productions. The equipment was supplied by TSAMM Professional Audio, SSL’s distribution partner in Austria.
