Theater performances scheduled for Chișinău and Brăila

Several theater productions and festivals are scheduled for September 2026 in Moldova and Romania.

In Chișinău, the Teatru-Spălătorie collective will present two shows. The first, ‘The Long Short History of Peace’, explores themes of war, economic interests, and state violence in relation to the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II. The second, ‘Memorie Distorsionată | M I X T A P E’, examines the rewriting of history and the transition from the Soviet system to neoliberal democracy through sound. This production has previously been featured at international festivals in Germany.

In Brăila, Romania, the ProBraila International Theater and Performing Arts Festival will feature the play ‘The Man Who Brings the Rain’ by Richard Nash. Directed by Andrei Huțuleac, the production tells a story of drought, love, and trust centered on a character who claims he can bring rain for a fee.
