Theater productions arrive in Alentejo and Portugal

The Alentejo coast is hosting several theatrical productions. Companhia Teatrales Ibéricas will present ‘A Barca dos Loucos’, a collective creation directed by Pepa Díaz-Meco. The play follows a group of comedians exiled by official decree who travel by sea, exploring themes of exclusion and the search for freedom through humor and sensitivity.

Performances for ‘A Barca dos Loucos’ are scheduled in Santiago do Cacém on September 10, Vila Nova de Santo André on September 11, and Sines on September 12. The project is promoted by AJAGATO in partnership with the municipalities of Sines and Santiago do Cacém.

Additionally, actress Luísa Cruz performs in ‘Maiúscula’, a production directed by Marcos Barbosa. The play centers on the character Benedetta Croce, an aging actress reflecting on her past, her body, and her relationship with fame and memory, drawing parallels to the strength of the Greek figure Medea.
