TheaterEars introduces filmmaker commentary for Whalefall

TheaterEars has launched a synchronized filmmaker commentary feature for the 20th Century Studios action thriller Whalefall. Available for free via the TheaterEars app, the service automatically syncs audio to the film, allowing viewers to listen to insights from director, co-writer, and producer Brian Duffield, author Daniel Kraus, and editor Pietro Scalia.

The commentary covers various production aspects, including the film's development as an adaptation and the construction of practical sets, such as the sperm whale’s stomach. The feature is available in theaters across the United States, Puerto Rico, and Canada.

Despite positive reviews, Whalefall’s global opening weekend collection of approximately $17.5 million fell short of industry projections for the $60 million production. The film stars Josh Brolin, Austin Abrams, Elisabeth Shue, and John Ortiz.
