Theaters in Sarajevo and Nikšić announce new artistic seasons

The National Theatre Sarajevo is launching its 2026/2027 artistic season with the production ‘Gogolj iz pepela’ (Gogol from the Ashes). Directed by Petar Pejaković, the play is inspired by Nikolai Gogol’s ‘Dead Souls’ and incorporates personal stories from the ensemble regarding loss and political manipulation. The premiere is scheduled for September 14.

In Nikšić, the Nikšić Theatre has begun preparations for its new season with a production of ‘The Master and Margarita’, based on the novel by Mikhail Bulgakov. Directed by Gorčin Stojanović and dramatized by Stevan Koprivica, the project aims to bring the classic 20th-century literary work to the stage through a contemporary reading. The premiere is expected in mid-October.
