Kayseri develops K9 rescue center and TEB announces theater award nominees

Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality is developing a specialized K9 Search and Rescue Debris Training Center and a new fire station. The project covers a total area of 13,000 square meters, with 6,000 square meters dedicated to the fire station and 7,000 square meters allocated to the K9 training facility. The center will include specialized infrastructure such as kennels, training classrooms, debris training areas, puppy training zones, and agility courses to enhance the skills of both K9 teams and rescue personnel.

Mayor Memduh Büyükkılıç stated that the facility aims to strengthen disaster response capacities not only for Kayseri but also on a national scale. The center is intended to eventually open its training programs to fire departments and public institutions from other provinces to facilitate inter-institutional experience sharing.

In cultural news, the Theater Critics Association (TEB) has announced the nominees for its 33rd annual Theater Awards. The nominees cover eight different categories, including Play of the Year and Best Director. The winners will be announced on September 17, 2026, with a formal ceremony scheduled for September 29 at the Beyoğlu Cinema in Istanbul.
