Theatre of the No presents Eugene Ionesco’s ‘The Chairs’

Theatre of the No, Athens’ first English-language theatre, will present Eugene Ionesco’s iconic absurdist play ‘The Chairs’ from October 3 to November 28. Directed by Yoel Wulfhart, the production will be performed in English with Greek subtitles.

The play, originally written in 1952, follows an elderly couple preparing for the arrival of invisible guests while a Orator is called upon to deliver a ‘great message’ of life. The production features Maria Tzannoukakia, Dino Fragko, and Apo Kyproio. Through black humor and the absurd, the work explores themes of human loneliness, the need for communication, and the desire to leave a meaningful legacy.
