Theatrical performances held in Ledesma and Alcántara

Several theatrical productions are marking cultural milestones in Spain. In Ledesma, Etón Teatro will premiere 'La Beltraneja: El trono del tiempo' on August 11, 2026. Directed by Ángel González Quesada, the original play explores the historical political intrigues surrounding Juana de Castilla, also known as 'La Beltraneja,' and her loss of the throne.

In Alcántara, the International Classical Theater Festival is concluding its 40th anniversary edition. The festival will close with a performance of the zarzuela 'Doña Francisquita' by the Clásicos de la Lírica company. This production, based on a work by Amadeo Vives, returns to one of the festival's historical genres to celebrate four decades of performing arts in the municipality.
