A passenger bus overturned on the Dahab–Nuweiba road in Egypt’s South Sinai governorate, resulting in at least 16 to 22 deaths and 28 injuries. The accident occurred near the Al-Saada area on a route frequently used by tourists traveling between the Red Sea resorts and other destinations.

Among the victims, at least 10 are reported to be Jordanian nationals. The bus was carrying 43 passengers, including 22 Jordanians, according to some reports. Emergency services responded by deploying 20 ambulances to the scene to evacuate the injured to nearby hospitals, including facilities in Nuweiba, Taba, Dahab, and Sharm El-Sheikh.

Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has ordered the formation of a technical committee, including representatives from the Ministries of Transport and Interior, the South Sinai Governorate, and the Administrative Control Authority, to investigate the cause of the crash. The investigation will focus on the vehicle’s safety, the driver’s condition, and the road’s integrity. Health Minister Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar has raised the emergency alert level to ensure all necessary medical supplies and care are provided to the survivors.
