Theft and vandalism reported in São José and São Leopoldo

Two separate incidents of theft and vandalism have been reported in the Brazilian states of Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul.

In São José, a vacant building on Avenida Acioni Souza Filho, which previously housed a gym, was targeted by vandals and thieves on Wednesday night. The intruders broke windows, stole wiring, and destroyed much of the interior. Authorities noted that the property lacked a security system. The City Hall has notified the owner to urgently secure the building to prevent further damage, theft, or irregular occupation.

In São Leopoldo, the Pequeno Aprendiz preschool was burglarized on Wednesday night. The thief, captured on security footage, spent approximately one hour inside the facility. Stolen items included appliances, equipment, and frozen meat intended for the children's meals. The school, which serves approximately 150 children, reported that the loss of resources will impact planned investments for the institution.
