Theft in Korytnica: Man arrested after stealing scrap metal twice
A man was arrested in Korytnica after attempting to steal scrap metal from the same private property twice in a single day.
During the first incident in the morning, the suspect removed valuable items including brass, steel, batteries, alternators, starters, compressors, and aluminum gearbox housings. He reportedly moved a trailer to clear a path for his vehicle before departing toward Piotrków Trybunalski.
While the victim was reporting the theft to the Municipal Police in Piotrków Trybunalski, the suspect returned to the property to attempt a second theft of exhaust pipes and wiper arms to repair his own vehicle. Police intercepted the man upon his return and recovered the stolen goods, which had been hidden in a barn in the Rozprza commune. The suspect faces charges for the theft of aluminum, copper, steel, and batteries, which carries a potential penalty of up to five years in prison.
