Thefts in Viterbo and Santo Stefano spark security concerns

Two separate thefts have occurred in Italian communities, drawing calls for increased security and local solidarity.

In Viterbo, unknown individuals broke into the ‘Gente di Cuore’ social dental studio between August 12 and 14. The intruders damaged the entrance and stole an administrative computer and a device connected to the radiographic equipment. The studio provides free dental care and prosthetics to families facing severe economic hardship. Luisa Ciambella, a local council member, described the theft as a wound to the community’s volunteer network and called for concrete solidarity to restore the facility’s operations.

In Santo Stefano, a theft took place on August 18 at the local church. Silvano Sasso, secretary of the Lega party, condemned the act as an ‘infamous gesture’ against a symbolic community site. The incident occurred in a central square during daylight hours in an area reportedly under video surveillance. The Lega has called on the municipal administration to increase territorial controls and improve security measures.
