Theo Janssen hired as new columnist by Voetbal International
Former Dutch international Theo Janssen has been appointed as a new columnist for the football magazine Voetbal International, joining existing columnists Nico Dijkshoorn, Hans Kraay Jr. and Frank Heinen. The magazine highlighted Janssen’s experience as a successful amateur‑level coach, adviser to Vitesse and analyst for NOS and Ziggo, noting his outspoken and humorous style. He will write a monthly column and co‑host a podcast with editor Freek Jansen, with video versions released on VI PRO and YouTube.
In a recent interview with Voetbal International, Janssen praised striker Wout Weghorst’s achievements for club and country but said the player’s mannerisms would irritate him as a teammate. He described Weghorst as talented yet “a bit of an act”, emphasizing that while he respects the forward’s abilities, he would find it challenging to work closely with him.
