Theo launches WhatsApp-based biblical assistant for child discipleship

Theo, a new biblical assistant integrated into WhatsApp, has been developed to assist Christian parents and educators in child discipleship. The tool aims to address concerns regarding children's exposure to inappropriate digital content by providing age-appropriate religious teaching materials.

Users can send a biblical passage via WhatsApp and receive teaching content within minutes. The methodology follows a five-step process: presenting the biblical text, providing historical and cultural context, positioning the narrative within biblical history, relating the text to the plan of redemption, and adapting the content to the specific age group of the child. Founder Carol Mendonça stated the project seeks to bridge the gap for those who wish to teach the Bible but lack formal theological training.
