Theodor Paleologu and Mihail Neamțu engage in public dispute

Intellectuals and former political colleagues Theodor Paleologu and Mihail Neamțu are involved in a public dispute following comments made by Paleologu regarding theft. During a Digi FM broadcast on October 19, Paleologu stated, “When it comes to stealing, it is impossible not to be at least one Romanian.”

In response, AUR deputy Mihail Neamțu issued a statement accusing Paleologu of generalizing and negatively portraying millions of Romanians, including those working honestly abroad. Neamțu also revisited past allegations concerning Paleologu’s father, Alexandru Paleologu, regarding a $50,000 award received from a foundation linked to Sorin Ovidiu Vîntu in 2000.

Paleologu has responded to these accusations via social media, continuing the exchange between the two figures.
