TherapiehundeTeams Kärnten funds assistance dog for boy with autism

The non-profit organization TherapiehundeTeams Kärnten has funded the acquisition and training of an assistance dog for an eight-year-old boy named Simon, who lives with autism spectrum disorder in the Rosental region of Austria.

Simba, a nine-month-old Cocker Spaniel, will undergo training to become a therapy companion and eventually an assistance dog to help Simon navigate daily life. The organization is providing the training free of charge, utilizing funds raised from course fees and donations collected during the association’s 25th-anniversary celebrations.

According to trainer Veronika Meissnitzer, assistance dogs can significantly help individuals with autism manage their daily routines. The association also uses its resources for other social projects, such as assisting families with school start-up costs.
