Thermal water developments emerge in Poland and Slovakia

In Poland, a major hotel and wellness investment is underway in Jachranka near the Zegrzyński Reservoir. The Termy Jachranka complex, developed by the family-owned Hotele Korona, is scheduled to open in 2028. The project features over 500 hotel rooms and 3,000 square meters of outdoor pools supplied by medicinal geothermal water extracted from a depth of approximately 1.8 to 2 kilometers. The water, estimated to be 200 million years old, maintains a temperature of 42°C. The development is financed by a consortium of 13 banks, including Bank Ochrony Środowiska (BOŚ).

In neighboring Slovakia, the village of Kalameny offers a free alternative for thermal bathing. Located just 50 kilometers from the Polish border, the site features a small, mineralized pool with water temperatures around 33°C year-round. This natural spring, discovered during geological works in the late 1990s, remains an accessible attraction in the Žilina Region near the Choczańskie Mountains.
