Therman Williams to lead shorthanded Wyoming secondary against Hawaii

Wyoming cornerback Therman Williams is preparing to face Hawaii following significant injuries to the Cowboys' secondary. Fellow freshmen Kendall Griffin and Tyson Shamsid-Deen both recently underwent hand surgery, leaving the defensive unit shorthanded.

Williams, a rookie from Riverside, California, is expected to take on a larger role against an aerial attack that averages 270 yards per game. Coaching staff members Jay Sawvel and Aaron Bohl expressed confidence in Williams, noting his performance in a recent game against Colorado State where he limited opponents to 13 yards on five targets.

Williams has reportedly focused on physical preparation, adding 17 pounds to his weight since January to prepare for the demands of the position.
