Theropods point-and-click adventure game released

Lost Token and publisher Dionous Games have released Theropods, a hand-drawn, wordless point-and-click adventure game available on Steam and GOG. The project, led by Kostas Skiftas, Sarah Duffield-Harding, and programmer Matt Frith, represents a decade of development that began as a game jam project in 2015.

Set in a prehistoric world with science-fiction elements, the game utilizes visual logic rather than dialogue trees, subtitles, or text. Players must navigate environments such as jungles and canyons by observing creature behavior and solving puzzles to outsmart predators and enemies. The game features frame-by-frame pixel art animation and a soundtrack that combines tribal rhythms with sci-fi synthesizers.

The narrative follows a young hunter and a stranded spaceman who must work together to free a village and return the traveler home. The development was supported by a successful Kickstarter campaign and continued through various challenges, including a global pandemic.
