Thesprotia: Elderly couple found dead in Parapota home

An elderly couple, aged 84 and 88 (or 89), was found dead in their home in Parapota, Thesprotia. The deceased, who lived alone, were discovered by their grandchildren on the morning of October 12, 2026.

Police have ruled out criminal activity, as investigators found evidence suggesting suicide. Two notes were reportedly left behind: one containing a warning regarding poison, and another stating that the act was their own decision and responsibility, including well-wishes for their family. Authorities also noted the presence of two glasses of water on a table.

A preliminary investigation is underway, and an autopsy has been ordered to determine the exact cause of death and confirm the potential use of toxic substances.
