Thessaloniki cafe fined for improper food labeling

The Department of Trade of the Directorate of Development & Environment of Central Macedonia has imposed an administrative fine of 500.00€ on a cafe-restaurant located on Komninon Street in Thessaloniki.

The penalty follows a routine inspection conducted on September 4, 2026. Inspectors discovered that the establishment failed to clearly indicate on its menu that certain items, specifically squid used in the ‘Calamarata Thalassinon’ dish, were frozen. This lack of distinction violates regulations regarding menu labeling and the movement and marketing of products.
