Thessaloniki driver dies after car fire on highway

A 30‑year‑old man was killed when his car caught fire after colliding with an electricity pole on the Thessaloniki‑Serres highway near Oraiokastro, Greece. The driver lost control, struck the pole and the impact split the vehicle, igniting a blaze that also set nearby fields alight. Firefighters were alerted around 20:00 and quickly extinguished the fire, later discovering the man's body outside the wreckage.

The Thessaloniki Traffic Police are investigating the circumstances of the accident, and the cause of the fire remains under inquiry.
