Thessaloniki firefighters rescue dog from three-meter hole

A 17-year-old dog named Rocky was successfully rescued after falling into a three-meter-deep hole in Thessaloniki. The incident occurred on Fleming Street while the dog was out for a walk with its owner.

The hole, which was reportedly covered with wood that failed to provide adequate safety, was created during recent utility works in the area. Following the fall, the Greek Fire Service was called to the scene. Firefighters and a volunteer conducted a rescue operation, descending into the pit to retrieve the animal. Rocky was brought to safety without serious injury and has since returned to his owner.
